The Invisible Accessory
We are fortunate enough to be able to grow a few summer veggies and herbs in our tiny backyard, and one of my favourite things about growing our own food are the smells. While I was in the backyard checking out the progress of our bounty, I took a moment to enjoy the smell of our tomato plants. The tomato plant is hands down my favourite smell in the garden. It's light and peppery with a hint of citrus. Avery invigorating scent.... This got me thinking, how can I enjoy this smell all the time? So I did a little digging and came across the Demeter Fragrance Library where you can find dozens of fragrances adapted from everyday smells. This was a huge discovery and I already have a few scents picked out to purchase, my first being Tomato!
I love that they have so many common smells available. I have a very sensitive memory trigger when I smell certain things. The fact that I can buy a fragrance that smells like pipe tobacco already makes me think of all those auctions my parent's brought us to when we were little (the auctioneer smoked a pipe and it's scent filled the air).
In celebration of this discovery I thought it'd be fun to put together three outfits inspired by three fragrances that I hope to try. Do you wear a different scent with different outfits? I usually have three scents that I work with and coordinate them with what I'm wearing. It's the perfect accessory, and something I never leave the house without. What is your favourite scent? Would you buy a fragrance to trigger a memory?
